CHAPTERS 01 - 03 + CHAPTERS 04 - 06 + CHAPTERS 07 - 08

CHAPTER 09 - Steal away the darkened pages, hidden so shamefully. I still feel the violence of the lies.

I shakily reached a hand toward the bus door, turning it, and stepping inside, trying my best to ignore the streak of blood that my fingers left on the handle. My stomach turned with disgust, but I shoved the queasy feeling back down. I had to get to a sink and wash this off. I had to get clean again before Gerard saw me... or anyone else for that matter.

God, what if someone saw me?

No, don't be stupid, Mikey. It was only the three of you there. Bert and Quinn made sure of that before they started their little heated affair. I vaguely remembered Ray saying something about Branden challenging him, Bob and Jepha to a 'Who could eat the grossest bar food concoction' contest. My money was on Ray, and not only because he was in my band. That guy would put damn near anything in his mouth for money! Wow. Ummm... I mean, he would eat almost anything on a dare. Yeah, that sounded better.

The bus was dark, silent, except for the light and faint buzzing of the television to my right. Frankie. He waited up for me. He was stretched out on the couch, wrapped in his purple fleece blacket with the skull and crossbones all over it that I made for him a few years ago, with his Skeleton Crew sketch pad and a box of Snickerdoodles on the table, sleeping soundly. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable he looked.

I reached over and switched off the T.V., turning back toward the kitchen area, when I heard him stir and yawn, and the groan of the springs beneath him meant he was sitting up, probably
ready to move in for the inquisition.

"When'd you get back?" he asked, wrapping his arms around my mid-section briefly. I disentangled myself and turned to face him, leaning further away and against the counter. It's not like I was trying to distance myself. I just wasn't in a particularly cuddly mood when I was covered in blood. If I were Frankie, I'd be scared if I was.

"A few minutes ago. I didn't want to wake you." I said, turning back to the sink, and turning it on, beginning to wash my hands, finally. I was dying to get the crusting blood off my skin. I was feeling so dirty. I knew I really needed a shower... but getting past Frank right now was going to be hard. And walking past Gee... that would be tough for another reason.

“God, Mikey... what did he do to you?” he asked, staring at rust colored water as it spiraled down the drain.

“Not mine.” I said.

“God. Did you... did you kill him?” he asked, with fear in his eyes.

“No!" I exclaimed, turning back around, "God, I didn't kill anyone. I just... It’s not all Bert’s. Some of it’s Quinn’s. And some of it is mine.”

He stepped toward me, taking a shaky breath, taking my hands in his, my palms facing upwards so he could inspect them. He bit his lip, as he spoke again, “Mikey... baby, I think we should finish cleaning you up.”

There was no doubt, I was scared out of my mind. I mean, it was the first fight I had been in without anyone there to back me up and that's always scary. Not to mention I was outnumbered, but, in the end, I was more afraid of myself. The damage I had done. I couldn’t believe I let it go that far. But... they deserved it. They did, but... to that extent?

Frankie couldn’t look into my eyes as he wiped the washcloth over my skin. He mended the few cuts I had and then turned to walk away.

“Frankie?” I asked, and he turned around. “Don’t leave me.” I whimpered.

“I won’t.” he said, finally looking at my face, taking in the 'scared shitless' expression I'm sure I was sporting at the moment. The one that was mirroring his. He looked at me and his expression instantly softened. He stepped toward me, taking me into his arms, and whispered into my hair, “Shh. It's alright, baby. You just scared the shit out of me, that’s all. I never knew my boyfriend was such a badass.” I couldn't help but laugh at that.

“I’m no badass. But I scared me too.” I said, “I think I went way too far.”

“You were only doing what you thought was right, okay? I mean, they hurt Gerard. I would have gone with you, if you had let me. I don’t want
anything to happen to him as much as you don’t. Gerard’s like a brother to me. I would have done the same thing.”

“Yeah. So don’t feel bad.” He said.

That’s when we heard the door to the bus open, and Branden yell for everyone to come out there. We both walked in there, like nothing was wrong, and
Gerard soon followed, wiping sleep from his eyes. Ray and Bob were behind Branden and they all looked really scared.

“What happened?” Gerard asked.

“Bert and Quinn have been attacked. The ambulence in on it’s way.” Ray said.

“What?” Gerard asked, shocked. He looked... hurt. “Who the fuck would do something like that?”

Frankie and I looked at eachother with fear in our eyes, as we heard the ambulence stop outside. Maybe I did do the wrong thing.

“We don’t know who would do it, but... Jeph is staying with them. He’s going to go with them, and I’m going to take Ray and Bob in one taxi. I called one
for the three of you too.” Branden said, and I could tell he was trying so hard not to cry. Ray had his hand on Branden’s back, rubbing it, and
comforting him.

“We’ll see you guys there then?” Bob asked, and we all nodded, solemnly. They left and Gerard fell into the nearest chair.

“Who the fuck would do this?” he asked, again.

“Gerard, I have something to tell you.” I said, kneeling next to him. “I’m sorry, Gee. I didn’t mean for it to go that far, but it was... me.”

“What?” he asked, looking hurt.

“I’m so sorry, Gee. I saw how hurt you were and I got so mad for them hurting you the way that they did, that I thought that they should hurt just as much. I never wanted to hurt them that much.” I said, crying now.

"I can't believe you would do that, Mikey!" he screamed.

Frankie and I both tried to quiet him as much as possible before I continued, "I know! Okay? I didn't think I could do that either. I didn't think I was physically capable of it. But when someone fucks with the most important person in my life, they need to know that they're fucking with me too. And that they don't want to do that."

"Wow..." Gerard said, shocked, "I'm... really the most important person in your life?"

I gave him a 'are you serious?' look, before asking "Who did you think it was, Gee? Big Bird? I mean, you're it. You're my brother. My best friend. My bandmate. So many different things... They might as well lump all together into one, right?"

Gerard's eyes swelled up with tears, as he took my hand in his, and agreed, "Yeah. And you're my most important person too, most definitely. I just thought... now that you and Frank were together that he would be your..." he trailed off, his eyes trailing up toward where Frankie was now shuffling awkwardly back and forth, staring down at the two of us.

"Hey. Me and Frankie are never going to change me and you." I said, placing my forehead against his. He looked toward the floor, as a tear made it's way down his face. I reached up and brushed it away from his cheek. "Gee, I'm so sorry this had to happen."

“It’s... it’s okay, Mikey.” He said, pulling back and straighening up. “I know that you thought that what you were doing was right, but... it wasn’t, Mikey. I mean, they
could press charges. I mean, did you even think about that? You could go to jail for assault. Mikey, you couldn’t fair in prison if you had a machete cock and grenade balls. I don’t want you to go to jail.”

“I don’t want you to go to jail either. All those fuckers in there, eyeing you...” Frankie said, hugging me, protectively. “I don’t think it’ll go that far though. I mean, I know that Bert and Quinn are going to be pissed, but... they wouldn’t go that far, would they?”

I heard a honk outside, signaling that our cab was here. We filed outside and into the cab. Silence hung in the air. I looked over to Gerard and he was still crying softly. I can’t help but feel guilty about that. All of this was my fault. I should have just stayed on the bus with Gee and tried to make him feel better instead of worrying about making myself feel better.

“Gee? Are you okay?” I asked.

“It sounds stupid, Mikey... but I’m really worried about him. And I’m worried about you too. I don’t know who’s side I should be on. I mean, we’re talking
about my brother and the man I loved. I don’t know. I’m just really fucking confused right now.” He said.

“I’m sorry.” I said, for the millionth time.

“I know you are.” He said, grasping my hand.

When we got to the hospital, we went up to the waiting room on the floor that both were being held in. As soon as we walked in, there were papparatzi already there
asking us questions.

“What happened here?”

“Do you know who made these attacks?”

“Are Bert and Quinn really together?”

“Are the rumors of a homophobic fan breaking in and gay bashing them true?”

We gave them no comments. This was definitely not something that I wanted right now. I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t kill them and see if they were alright. I wanted to apologize mostly. I don’t know how exactly you go about doing that, but... I had to try. I couldn’t live with this guilt that was eating away inside of me. I couldn’t do it. I needed to make my peace.

We walked up to the rest of the guys who were also being harrassed by reporters, but were ignoring them also. As soon as they all saw us, Branden and Jeph came up to us and gave Gee a hug. I knew that they knew what happened between Bert and him, and they were concerned. They turned to both Frankie and I and gave us hugs as well.

“How are they?” Frankie asked.

“Quinn is alright. He still hasn’t woken up. They also said that... Bert has internal bleeding. They’re not sure if they can... stop it.” Jeph said, with
tears in his eyes.

God, help me, I may have killed a man.

Chapter 10 - Still each time I always meant... Every word, Every one. Though in time they finally bent... Every word, Every one.

I took off running for the bathroom and Frankie followed me. I ran into the stall and emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet bowl. Frankie came in after me and rubbed my back. I was shaking violently and I didn’t really know what to do. I was freaking out. No. Freaking out was an understatement. I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown of epic preportions. How the hell could I have done this? How the hell could I look myself in the mirror every morning if he...

“Shhh... Mikey, it’s going to be okay, alright? It wasn’t you. It’s not your fault.” He said, hugging me tightly against his chest.

“Yes, it is, Frankie. What if Bert dies? I couldn’t fucking live with myself. I mean... I don’t know what’s going to happen. Fuck, Frankie. I really... I may have killed someone. Why did this have to happen to me? Why did it have to happen to Gerard? All of this would have never happened if Bert hadn’t have cheated. But I can't justify my actions. Just because he was wrong, it doesn't make my actions any less wrong.” I said, “Frankie...? Would you ever cheat on me like that?”

“And face the wrath of Mikey Way?” he laughed. “No, honestly, if I wasn’t happy, I would tell you and try and fight for us. Then if we couldn’t work it out, I would have to break up with you. But I couldn’t manipulate and hurt you like that. I mean, you’re my best friend and I love you too fucking much.”

“I love you too.” I said, “And I wouldn’t cheat on you either. Not after I spent so long trying to get you.”

Gerard then came into the bathroom and instantly smelled the vomit. His eyes were concerned, and I wondered what he was really concerned about. My vomitting, me almost killing them, or his ex possibly dying in a hospital bed? Only he knew.

“Are you alright, Mikey?”

“Yeah, I’m fine now. Has anyone gotten any word?”

“Yeah. The doctor’s came up after you ran off and Bert’s bleeding has slowed. They think they'll be able to stop it soon. Quinn was waking, but he went right back to sleep. He’s going to be alright though. They said there’s nothing that we can do tonight and that we should go home, but Branden and Jeph don’t want to leave. I may stay with them. But you two should get home. Rest up and come back in the morning. Maybe then all of this will be sorted out.” He said, in a monotonous voice.

It may have sounded like he didn’t care, but I knew that he was hurting as much as the rest of us. Maybe more so. This was just Gerard’s typical shut down, when something bad happens. He goes emotionless so he can stay srong for everyone else. Gerard has always been dependable, with the exception of his drug stint. When he was on drugs nothing else mattered, but then once he got clean, he became super-dependable. I guess, it was the guilt that made him act that way, but I never questioned it. I was just happy to have my brother back.

“Yeah, I guess we’ll head off then. If you get to see them... tell them...” Frankie searched for words.

“Don’t say anything. Just... tell me what happens.” I said, getting up and going over to Gerard. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to... I’m just so sorry, Gee.”

I saw a tear slip down his face, and he hugged me. “It’s okay, Mikey. I don’t blame you. I blame myself.”

“No, Gee. You can’t blame yourself. You loved him...”

“No, Mikey. I love him... still... even after... but I still should have known.” He said, breaking down in my arms. “I should have known something was different. I should have known that I was just convenient.”

“Gerard, look at me.” I said, tilting his head to meet my gaze. “You have to stop thinking that you were wrong here. He was the one in fault. He cheated on you. He’s stupid if he can’t see what a great person you are. Gee, you’re everything anyone could ever possibly want. You’re perfect.”

He looked in my eyes and then leaned forward, kissing me, gently. I had almost forgotten the softness of his lips. The way they felt against mine. I heard a gasp behind me. Frankie. I pulled away.

“No. I can’t kiss it better this time, Gee.”

“I know. I’m sorry.” He said, putting his forehead against mine and running his hand through my hair, then backing away from me. “I’m sorry, Frankie.” He said.

He left the room, and I closed my eyes, turning to Frankie.

“I’m sorry.” I said.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked.

“Cuz... I mean, how do you tell your best friend that you’re fucking your brother?”

“You say, ‘Hey, me and Gerard are going to go have hot sex now. You wanna join?’.” He smiled.

“You’re not mad?” I asked.

“Hell yeah, I’m mad. Maybe I wanted in on that shit.” He said, laughing, and coming over to me. “Listen, it doesn’t bother me. In fact, it does the exact opposite of bothering.” He said, pressing his hips into mine and letting me feel the bulge in his pants. I kissed him roughly for a minute, and pulled away.

“I’m gonna go get Gerard.” He said, smiling. “Oh, and when you see us? Look a little bit sad. Like you’re about to be punished. I have an idea.” He laughed... well, it was more of a giggle... and left. Dear Lord, what did Frank Iero have in mind?

I walked into the waiting area of the hospital, and I saw Gerard with his head in his hands, sitting all by himself. I walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder and he looked up and winced, thinking that I was going to hurt him or something for kissing my boyfriend.

“Frankie, if you’ve come to kick my ass, I understand. I shouldn’t have done it. I know it was wrong, but you don’t understand. Mikey...”

“I understand perfectly, Gerard. You thought that it would be okay to put your hands on what is mine.”

“I’m sorry, Frankie. You don’t know how fucking sorry I am.”

“Well, you know what Gerard? You shouldn’t be sorry. You should be scared. Because after I get through with you, neither you or Mikey are going to be walking for a week. Come with me.” I said, grabbing Gerard by the arm and yanking him out of the seat.

Sure, I wasn’t really mad, but it’s fun to watch him squirm. Thinking that he’s going to get his ass beat over that little kiss. No. Well, maybe, I know he likes it rough.

“Frank... Frankie, where are you taking me?” he asked, with a scared tone in his voice. I pushed open the doors where a cab was waiting. Mikey looked at the both of us, and then down to his feet. We walked closer and I reached out to touch Mikey’s face. When I did, he winced, much like Gerard had done earlier.

“Don’t be scared, lover. I just need to teach you both a lesson, alright?” I asked.

“Ye.. yeah.” he stuttered. God, Mikey should be an actor. He’s even fooling me.

We got into the cab and headed off toward the buses. I looked over at Mikey and smiled, and he tried hard not to, but I knew he wanted to smile just as wide as I was. I’m glad that I could make him happy. He deserves it.

When we got to the bus, Frankie told us both to get inside the bus. I took Gerard’s hand in mine and we went in and sat on the couch.

“What do you think is going to happen to us, Mikey?”

“I don’t know, Gee.” I said, as Frankie walked in.

“Gerard, Gerard, Gerard... what am I going to do with you?” he said. “Stand up.” Gerard rose to his feet, dropping my hand, and Frankie got in his face. “You know what I don’t get, Gerard?”

“What?” he asked, and Frankie kissed him, being so passionate and tender with him.

“Why you ever bought that I was mad.” Frankie said.

Ooh, what does Frankie have in store for GeeFace??? Tune in next time to find out!
